A Camping Escape in a beautiful natural landscape
Come, escape and relax on our suprisingly beautiful, quiet, peaceful and friendly rural estate. Camp between our olive-, eucalyptustrees and cork oaks. Find yourself a welcoming spot in the serene scenery of the amazing nature park Serra de Sao Mamede on the border with Spain.
Enjoy the Sun, the Stars, the breathtaking Silence, the Slow and Simple life. Dream away gazing at the (nightly lit) Castelo de Marvao. Explore the amazing untouched rocky but green landscape with hidden hamlets by foot or bicycle right from your spot. The unique micro-climate offers a paradise for birders, nature lovers and those seeking some well deserved quality time.
Escape the rush of everyday life and leave mass tourism behind. Slow down, unwind, and recharge in the quiet beauty of the Raia, the unspoiled and authentic border region of Portugal and Spain.
Adults only (16+) – feel at home – for happy campers
We offer a limited number of camping spots for nice people with tents, caravans and small campervans (up to 6.99 metres long). You can camp in our 3 ha big landscape park with a refreshing salt water pool (April – October) amidst the stunning natural setting. Book now, choose your own spot on arrival and sleep under the amazing starlit sky.
Included are the use of electricity (up to 10kWh), the pool, toilets and showers, facilities for washing up, a toilet dump, the pleasure of donkey hugs and free reliable WIFI at your spot. At Terras Amsterdāo you can meet your fellow travelers and treat yourself to an Alentejo wine, a cold lager or a locally brewed beer, while enjoying the fairytale scenery of the rough and rocky green Alto Alentejo.

The pitches are well spread apart, giving everyone some privacy, and the facilities are modern and well-maintained/clean. We came in the peak of summer, which was actually lovely thanks to the saltwater pool and the shade of the nearby eucalyptus trees. Most of the pitches also have some trees for shade. The location of the camp site also offers some nice options for little day trips by bike or foot to interesting nearby old towns. The whole atmosphere of the camp is calm and restorative, and most of all we loved meeting Vitor and Ronald (and all of their animals!), who made us feel very welcome.

And just as important, after some activities, the star filled nights always bring the desired cool breeze for a good nights sleep. We specialise in slow recreation with a personal touch, and try to stay far away from anonymus hasty commercial tourism. Just be (or recreate) yourself and feel at home. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Camspcape Beira Marvao is geen commerciële camping. 2 fantastische heren verwelkomen je samen met een hoop leuke dieren! Veel mensen spreken over een gevoel zoals thuis komen. Zeker na een lange reis. Op het terrein kan je alles vinden. Een mooie kampeerplek, douches, zwembad, wifi en een gezellige bar. De omgeving is rijk aan indrukwekkende geologische formaties en sporen van een rijke geschiedenis. Van de prehistorie naar de Romeinen en de middeleeuwen. Samen met de unieke vogelsoorten zoals de indrukwekkende gieren is dit een heel interessante plaats. Op slechts enkele kilometers van de Spaanse grens en de Extremadura. Vitor en Ronald zijn 2 warme mensen die je met veel liefde ontvangen. Ze verwachten dan ook dat je minimaal 2 nachten verblijft. Dit om mekaar beter te leren kennen en ook de omgeving. Die is namelijk de moeite waard en de meeste mensen rijden hier te snel voorbij. Neem zelf een kijkje en geniet van de betoverende omgeving en het zicht op het indrukwekkende kasteel van Marvao!

O espaço é lindíssimo, perfeitamente integrado na natureza, o que proporciona um sossego absoluto. A piscina de água salgada é uma autêntica maravilha, perfeita para relaxar com uma vista incrível. Um agradecimento especial aos hosts, que foram super simpáticos e prestáveis durante toda a estadia. É o refúgio ideal para quem procura tranquilidade e contacto com a natureza no Alentejo. Dit jaar hadden wij weer het geluk om — net als vorig jaar — te kamperen op het prachtige landje van de mannen, vóór en na een festival in de buurt. Zodra we de vlaggen zien wapperen, zijn we weer thuis. Vertrekken is niet makkelijk. We kunnen ons geen betere plek voorstellen om op te laden voor, en bij te komen van een week feest. Our fairytale self-service Terras Amsterdāo is open for socialising, drinks and (sometimes) snacks.
Dinner
When conditions are right, we organise a shared meal at Terras Amsterdão on selected days (vegetarian option available).
Estate
Natural sloping terrain with Olive-, Eucalyptus- and Fruit trees, 2 donkeys, 10 chicken, 3 cats, Husky Dame and head of security Dushi.
Pool
Enjoy our refreshing salt water pool with an amazing view on Castelo de Marvao (open April – Oktober).
Extra Extra Virgin Olive Oil
So nice, we had to call it Extra twice!
Have a taste and buy some of our Extra Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 100% from our own olive grove. The olives are harvested in the second half of October by our local crew and cold pressed that same evening/night in the local press of Santo António das Areias. The result is a delicious soft, unfiltered, nutty super-tasty Extra Extra Virgin Olive Oil with an acidity of just 0,2% which can be used for pretty much anything you can think of. From cooking and baking to skincare. Available in 0,75, 2 and 5 liter containers at 20€ a liter (only for guests).
