A Camping Escape in a beautiful natural landscape
Come, escape and relax on our suprisingly beautiful, quiet, peaceful and friendly rural estate with olive-, eucalyptus-, fruittrees and cork oaks. You are welcome to camp in the serene scenery of the amazing nature park Serra de Sao Mamede on the border with Spain.
Enjoy the Sun, the Stars, the breathtaking Silence, the Slow and Simple life. Dream away gazing at the (nightly lit) Castelo de Marvao. Discover this medieval stronghold perched atop a granite mountain, 860 meters high, offering the best views in the entire Alto Alentejo. Roam the Jewish quarter in the tiny town of Castelo de Vide. Explore the amazing untouched rocky but green landscape with hidden hamlets by foot or bicycle right from your spot. The unique micro-climate offers a paradise for birders, nature lovers and those seeking some well deserved quality time.

We offer a limited number of camping spots for nice people with tents, caravans and campervans (< 7 meters). You can camp in our 3 ha big landscape park with a refreshing salt water pool (April – September) amidst the stunning natural setting. Book now, choose your own spot on arrival and sleep under the amazing starlit sky.
Included are the use of electricity (up to 10kWh), the pool, toilets and showers, facilities for washing up, a toilet dump, the pleasure of donkey hugs and free reliable WIFI at your spot. At terras Amsterdāo you can meet your fellow travelers and treat yourself to an Alentejo wine, a cold lager or a locally brewed beer, while enjoying the fairytale scenery of the rough and rocky green Alto Alentejo.

Our fairytale terrace Amsterdāo is open for socialising, drinks and (sometimes) snacks.

When the conditions are right we organise a joined meal on selected days at Terras Amsterdão (vegetarian option available).

Guests who visit us for the first time are often in transit to or from the more obvious touristic destinations (Algarve and Silvercoast) and book just two nights (because that’s the minimum stay). But that is just not enough …

Campscape rules: please read before you book
Our Campscape is not a commercial campsite. It is foremost our home where we enjoy a relaxed and simpel life. We welcome guests who like to camp and recreate in an unspoiled beautiful, geological and serene historic and natural landscape. Therefore we have some houserules that might be different from campsites and camperparks. The rules in place ensure a true sociable and sustainable escape.
- We only accommodate guests of 16 years and older and the minimum stay is 2 nights. No vehicles over 6.99 meter (we´re serious).
- After installing yourself park your car and/or trailer in the designated parking areas, not at your pitch! We aim to minimise motorised traffic and vehicles on and around the camping spots. The art is to blend in in the landscape, not marking your territory with stuff that limit the experience of others.
- We welcome campervans (< 7 meter) for camping, but please don't use your campervan (or vehicle you sleep in on one of the spots) to go out driving! Our estate is not a park and drive, but a traffic free park to camp and relax, walk and cycle. We have a taxiservice available.
- Well socialised dogs - towards people and other dogs - are welcome, always under control. Please present your dog(s) at the check-in to meet our dogs Dame and Dushi to ensure all stays peaceful. When this is (for whatever valid reason) not possible, don´t come.
- Please do not hang anything in or on our trees and respect the (grass-flower) borders of your spot. At the sanitary building and on the green field you'll find drying racks to dry your wash.
- Because of local regulations, open fire or barbecue on coals are prohibited. Please don't smoke while walking around. Smoking is allowed but please use an ashtray and always have some water at hand.
- The gates to the estate close at sunset. As a guest you can open the gates and enter/exit the estate. However, after 22.00 hour you cannot enter the estate with your motorised vehicle and have to park it in front of kiosk Amsterdao.
- We take no responsibility for any loss or accidents on the grounds. You stay at your own risk.
